Food is good and service is great. Christopher as our server was great to talk and food was delicious.

Great place to go with a family, a date, or a large group. The staff was very accommodating, even though our rag-tag group kept getting larger through the night. The waiters we quick and had a great sense of humor. I guess they are used to a lot of non-Indian customers because they always ask about the spice level or warn if they think it might be too much for your New Yawk accent. There are plenty of vegetarian / vegan options so it's a good place to go with a mix of meat eaters and naan meat eaters. Chicken, lamb and fish. There wasn't anything less than a great meal in any of it. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars, is that EAT CLUB (our group) reserves that only for "special services." Eat here! You'll love it!

A family owned clean restaurant. Food tasted home cooked - good flavor and not too salty! The garlic naan was especially delicious.

Tasty meal! I had the Paneer tikki masala, bhat puri chaat, and saag with chick peas for the first time. My 2 favorites were paneer and chaat. The paneer consistency was creamy and firm (not really similar to tofu). The next was the Chaat, really good flavor and crunch. The service was quick and friendly. Towards the end they looked like they were trying to get us to leave, but it wasn't crowded/busy at all, only 3 other tables besides mine and no one waiting to be seated. We had been there for about 1-1.5 hours, so it made sense, but like I mentioned, it wasn't crowded.

Really great lunch special! Used to be $10 for the vegetarian plate that comes with rice and 2 entrees (now it's $11 and only to go, while the dine in option is $15.99 and includes an appetizer and bread and drink?). I love the daal and always get it. The bhindi and mixed veg curry are decent. Haven't tried the Chana and don't love the paneer as much. Always plenty of seating, friendly workers, and fast service. Great to have a work lunch too since it's not very loud or busy.

Lunch prefix for $15. I couldn't say no and there was so much food on the table! Appetizer: Started with the Paneer Tikka - it was a bit tougher than I would like. Use the green sauce for extra flavor. My friend had the chicken which was well seasoned and tastier. Entree: I got the Aloo Matar, essentially cauliflower and green peas. Tasty and not overly saucy. My friend had the butter chicken, which went very well with the rice. Naan: I had the garlic and my friend had the rosemary. I much prefer the garlic as it packs a bit more flavor. On top of this, we had the mango lassi which really filled me up prior to this meal. Food was overall decent. An extra star for the cleanliness of the restaurant.

Stellar dining experience with outstanding Indian Food! Came here towards the end of their day on a Saturday. We didn't know the time they closed and just assumed it would be ok to dine in. After a long day in the city, walking, cold and exhaustion, we came to Aahar to eat some homemade amazingness. So glad we did! Despite them closing at 10pm, we were able to place an order at 9:15 and be fully out right before closing time. The staff was so kind and treated us so nicely. They made sure we were taken care of. The best part is we had the whole restaurant to ourselves since no one was there. Felt a little safer, especially during covid. The space is pretty intimate but does seat a lot of tables! It's very elegant and classy. We ordered the Daal Makhani and the Malai Kofta. Did not disappoint! If it wasn't so late we would've made sure to order more but can't wait to be back here when we're back in the area! Exceptional service, outstanding food! Just make sure to come earlier than closing time so that you can enjoy the full experience :)

We love Aahar! We usually order take out but today we dined in and it made us love the food more. Great dishes, great service. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We are creatures of habit and often order the same dishes wherever we are regulars. At Aahar we are frequent flyers of their dal tadka (extra spicy with green chili), saag paneer, any of their chaats (soooo good). Tonight we did try a new chicken dish - chicken chettinadu and we are so happy we did. Its a curry with coconut, turmeric , onion, and a red chilies paste. Quickly became our favorite chicken entree and has been enveloped into our regular mix. In addition to the food being awesome, the service is so so wonderful. Attentiveness and hospitality are their strengths. Definitely recommend this Tribeca gem!
